Volvo Order of Merit – Team Tour

How does the Order of Merit work?

• Every event on the schedule counts towards the OoM.

• Merit points are awarded on the basis of 100 each to the winners of an event, 99 for 2nd place, 98 for third and so on.

• A competitor’s final OoM position is determined by the total merit points accumulated in his/her best THREE results throughout the season. Competitors can play in as few or as many events as they wish but it is only their best THREE results that count on the OoM.

• The top four competitors in the Team Tour Order of Merit after the last event at Frilford Heath will qualify for the Volvo UK Final to be played at Vale do Lobo, Algarve 29th Oct – 1st Nov 2010.

• In the event of a tie for fourth place a competitor’s fourth best Team Tour merit point score will be taken into account and so on.

• If a competitor qualifies for the UK Final through his / her position on both the Volvo Tour and the Volvo Team Tour it will be their qualification through the Team Tour that takes precedence.
